Compelled by a shared philosophy deeply rooted in shaping nature, Mathias Bengtsson and Vincent Chaperon express a mutual vision of elevation and growth, exploring the evolving relationship between nature, technology, and human creation – merging the traditional past with the future. This creative dialogue reflects the innovative journey of ‘Growth’: an elevation from nature to artistic creation. Like the vine planted in Champagne’s rich soil, Mathias Bengtsson and Dom Pérignon cultivate a form like a living organism that cradles and climbs around a magnum bottle of Dom Pérignon Vintage 1999 Plénitude 2 and Dom Pérignon Vintage 2000 Plénitude 2 Rosé.
In the two limited editions born from Dom Pérignon and Mathias Bengtsson’s creative dialogue, an innovative bio-mimicry process is used to grow a sculpture using digital seeds programmed with a DNA containing instructions for its development. Mimicking the natural growth of the vine, the digital seeds mature under randomly applied meteorological conditions, resulting in a distinctive, organic aesthetic that emulates the rules and methods of nature. Algorithms echo the growth of the artwork with its organic shape, and exceptional artisans then meticulously handcraft each piece, bringing the digital design into the tangible world.

THE NOSE
Complexity brings sensory chiaroscuro, juxtaposing fruit and ripeness.
Warm, mineral , coca, and smoked peat notes converse with delicate dried flower and candied tropical fruit.

THE PALATE
The opening beams instantly and strikes a joyful major chord. The
Body is lively , umami resonates and sculpts the contours of the wine.
Surprisingly and deeply fruity , middle palate is characteristic of the vintage, and finish is tactile, with saline toasted notes.

Rosé Edition – Dom Pérignon P2 1999 rosé
THE NOSE
Like Janus, the wine has two sides, expressing both warmth and coolness. The seductiveness of black cherries, dried figs, and roses contrasts with deeper notes of nutmeg and cocoa powder, culminating in a finish of toastiness, smoke, and ash.
THE PALATE
The initial impression is dominated by the consistency and integrated balance of all the different facets. The mouthfeel unfolds with suppleness and a round, even full-bodied sensation. The surprising finish tightens and then slackens, sappy and acidic, revealing notes of spices and dried citrus.

The artist – Mathias Bengtsson
BIOGRAPHY
Danish born in 1971, he studied furniture design at the Danish College of Design and the Art Centre College in Switzerland. In 1996, Bengtsson went to London to study under Ron Arad at the Royal College of Art. Mathias Bengtsson makes sculptural objects that are both visually striking and technically innovative. Bengtsson breaks down established boundaries between design, art, craft and technology.
